Bisque firing in Lil Mo
I fired my first kiln in about 8 years, last Saturday. It was the most fantastic thrill, to load it up and turn it on. The slight firing smell brought back so many memories. I took it really slow and babied it so it took longer than usual (4 hours to reach 1875 degrees F). Everything turned out lovely and now I can't wait to do a glaze firing. That is when opening your kiln is right up there with the excitement kids feel on Christmas morning. There can be all kinds of fabulous glazes just clamoring to be shown off!!
